ICLW

Friday Friend Link Up ~ Furry Friends

Welcome to all my ICLW bloggers! OK, so this is the last link up for this month and hopefully we’ll get more participants! It’s Friends Month on Stress Free Infertility. We talked about IRL friends (check out my poll) and virtual friends (read some heart felt posts). Now it’s time to pay homage to our furry friends, the fur babies that are near and dear to your hearts!

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Write up a quick post about your lovable 4 legged friend who has helped you through your infertility in some way
  • Include an adorable picture
  • Link back here to spread the word and get others to read the linked posts as well
  • Link up on Friday (*I will most likely put the list up by Thursday)
  • Have fun! ;-)

Lovin’ Lauren, Damita, and Sarah!

So, it’s ICLW time and in case you don’t know,  I do a little thing I like to call Blog Love Mondays where I pick bloggers at random off my blogroll. So, if you’re not on my list, let me know and I’ll add you on! At this time, I usually randomly select off the ICLW list but this week, since I’m featuring furry friends for Friends Month, I started reading and commenting until I found bloggers with four legged companions! So here we go:

First up, I’m lovin’ Lauren from Not Just an Army Wife. She has two pups, Bella (her crazy daschund) and Murphy (her lovable corgi). Read her  ICLW post to learn more about her. And, she is now 3 days past her IUI so go wish her some luck!

Ok, next we have Damita from Digital-Damita.net. She has 3 cats Arthur, Kit, and Onion with pictures of them on a recent wordless Wednesday post. She has been trying to look for a job at the moment, so go wish her some luck as well! In other news, she’s been trying to get pregnant for a year now and is venting about “relaxing.”

And last but not least, we have Sarah from The Rocky Road to Motherhood. She has two cats, Poppy and Lucy who you can see in her about me page. But even more exciting than that, she is a new mom and has adorable pics of her son! And she recently found out he has a heart condition and will need open heart surgery soon, so keep him in your prayers and send good wishes along.

Go send some ICLW love!

And don’t forget to write up your posts about your fur babies/furry friends to link up on Friday! ;-)

Welcome ICLWers!

Hello! Welcome to my little corner of the Internet! I went through 6 IVF cycles to have my family and I wrote a memoir called Ordinary Miracles coming this fall. I write this blog to help all of you still on your journey to motherhood and I am looking forward to meeting new bloggers!

On Sundays, I usually post a success story but I don’t have a new one this week. You can check out the success stories I’ve posted or if you’ve been successful, go to my Q & A for success stories post for all the info on how you can submit yours!

This month has been a busy one! It’s Friends Month here on Stress Free Infertility. I posted a poll to see how honest you are with your friends in real life. Check that out for some interesting results! Also, I’m working on a new book for the fertile world. Please pass on this quick survey to your fertile friends and family members!

And last but not least, I’m having a little link up and I would LOVE your participation!Write up a quick post about your virtual friends (all your besties in the ALI community) to tell them how much you appreciate them and then link up to my Friday Friend Link Up post. Also, get some posts ready for your furry friends and link up this Friday!

Lovin’ Mara, Missy, and Jess!

So, this time (instead of randomly selecting) I decided to pick ladies off the ICLW list who happen to be in the midst of adoption and also those I have never read before or haven’t featured in a long while….here we go!

First up is Mara from Marriage 2.0. She has had a whirlwind July with traveling around but will re-enter her routine today. She also has a post about speaking up or not speaking up when it comes to infertility and adoption. Read her post and put your 2 cents in! ;-)

Next we have Missy from Scarlet baby. She is very excited telling us how good things come in threes. (Find out what 3 things they are…well ok, I’ll give you a hint on one, they have a matchwith a birthmother! Congrats Missy! Happy planning as you get ready for the October due date!

One of Jess's most peaceful places...the Japanese Garden in Porltand, OR

And last but not least we have Jess from A little blog about the Big Infertility )and adoption too! who I featured nearly a year ago when she was venturing through IVF and is now pursuing adoption. This recent post picture brought her to tears where she discusses gay marriage and infertility. Also, here’s her welcome ICLW post to learn more about what she’s been up to!

July ICLW!

It’s ICLW time again! And I’ve dedicated this entire month to everything adoption related! I have a little giveaway going on right now so check that out! Also, I know the month is running out soon, but if you’d like to guest blog about anything adoption related, PLEASE let me know and I’d love to have you on!

OK, so now I’m going to tell  you a bit about myself…I am a mom of 3 adorable miracles (all conceived through IVF). My daughter is 4 and my b/g twins will be 2 really soon. I’m also a twin and my twin sister just started her own blog for special needs kids, so if you’re a parent or teacher who needs some advice for your little ones with special needs, check out her blog: Tips 4 Special Kids.

I recently finished a memoir called Ordinary Miracles that I am in the process of self publishing which shares my journey through primary and secondary infertility. (*Let me know if you’d like to review it and I can get you a copy soon!)

And, here’s something you may not know, my twin sister and I were adopted. And…I wanted to disclose the fact that my mother was quite secretive about the information of my biological mother. She knew much more information than she told us. And, although I never wanted to hurt her feelings, I was always curious about who she was.

I know that now adoptions are handled quite differently then they did a couple decades ago. But, I wonder, how many adoptive parents (or those seeking adoption) out there have discussed if you will tell you’re chid(ren) who their biological parents are and if so, how much information will you give them? Thanks for sharing!

I really do love this time of the month because I LOVE COMMENTS!!!! ;-)

Lovin’ A, Mrs. R, and Heather!

OK, for the last day of ICLW, I will again randomly pick from that list for Blog Love (which I didn’t get to yesterday!) And tomorrow, look for my review on Good Eggs! I just finished it! ;-)

First up, I’m lovin’ A from The Journey to Baby G. In her recent post, she had a vivid dream about un-implanting her little embryos from a recent transfer. In this post, she explains IVF pretty well as an emotional roller-coaster. Go calm her nerves during this 2ww and wish her some luck!

Next up, we have Mrs. R from Hearts Joined, Hands Fast.  She just started stimming for her first IVF on day 2! Here is her welcome ICLW post where she also tells us she is doing acupuncture and got “acudrunk”! I remember feeling that way~it’s such a relaxing thing to feel! ;-) Happy Stimming Mrs. R!

Survive Infertility and ThriveAnd last but not least, we have Heather from Survive and Thrive! She has a sweet Father’s Day post to her Dad. She also has some slightly altered lyrics to Alexis Jordan’s song Happiness which I love! Go send her some love and luck for her new appointment with an RE!

Some Success Right Around the Corner!

OK, so I don’t have a new success story for you but I perused the ICLW list and there’s lots of success brewing there to bring you some inspiration. Just look for “pregnant“, or “parenting after…” in the blog description. If you’re one of those lucky few and happen to land here from ICLW, I would love to feature your success story! So if you’re willing to share it, please go to my Q & A format! Thanks so much in advance! ;-)

Lovin’ Lindsey, CGD, and Stinky!

Hi! So sorry for the delay! I’ve been crazy busy! If you’re here from ICLW, welcome! I like to do a blog love post (each Monday-that’s the reason for the apology!) and during ICLW, I like to combine the two and randomly choose from that list! (But if you’re not on my blogroll list, please let me know and I’ll add you on!) OK, here we go!

  A Freckled Life

First up, I’m lovin’ Lindsey from A Freckled Life. She has an interesting post about PCOS affects her life. She also has a really cute post about a music link up so go check it out!

Next up, we have CGD from Adventures in Infertility-Land. She has a Father’s Day post that is such a beautiful tribute to her dad. Also, she is feeling a bit lost on fitting in as she writes, “I still feel like an oddball that does not really fit in, but I am trying to figure out how to make that feeling just be ok.”

And last we have Stinky from Beyond the Wallpaper. In Fabric of Reality, she posts about clothes and ‘stretching’ thoughts which I’m sure many can relate to (including myself at one time). She also has a post about A different kind of loss–weight loss! ;-)

All these ladies are on the ICLW list! Send them some love!

Help The Tax Credit Bill for Infertility!

If you’re here from ICLW, welcome! Please feel free to look around (especially at this giveaway post) after you read this:

Are you concerned about the cost of infertility treatment? Well, I’m sure most of you are! That’s why I’ve copied and pasted this important information from an e-mail Resolve sent me so I can spread awareness to help the Tax Credit Bill for Infertility Treatments which was introduced in the U.S. Senate 2 weeks ago during Resolve’s Advocacy Day. Find out what to do below to get the word out! ;-)

Take Action: Tax Credit Bill for Infertility Treatments introduced in the U.S. Senate

The time is now! The Family Act of 2011, S 965 is new legislation introduced in the U.S. Senate just two weeks ago that will give people diagnosed with infertility a tax credit for the out-of-pocket expenses related to IVF treatments and medical procedures to preserve fertility for cancer patients.  Read more here.

What YOU can do

Now that it is introduced, S 965 needs co-sponsors in the U.S. Senate.  We need EVERYONE who is facing infertility (and their friends and family) to contact their two U.S. Senators.

1. Contact your two Senators right now.  It takes 3 minutes through RESOLVE’s Action Alert System. PLEASE review the online letter and personalize it with your story.  Personal contentis far more impactful than a form letter. You can add as much or as little information as you want in the body of the letter. The RESOLVE Action Alert System will do the rest!

2. Ask your friends and family to send letters too!  Forward this link so they can take action today. http://www.resolve.org/taxcredit

3. Share the information about the tax credit on your Blog or Facebook page!
